The DOON Golf Academy

The Foundation, established by renowned Indian professional golfer Anirban Lahiri, is a non-profit organization dedicated to growing and nurturing the sport of golf in India.

The Foundation focuses on various key areas, including Grassroots Programs and Scholarships. One of the key figures in the Foundation is Mr. Vijay Divecha, Anirban Lahiri’s lifelong coach and a leading name in Indian golf coaching. He serves as a Director and Head of Instruction for the Foundation.

The Grassroots Program is designed to support golf clubs in establishing and maintaining successful junior programs. Its goal is to introduce more children to the game of golf and foster lifelong golfers. The program addresses barriers to entry such as equipment and access, ensuring that more kids can experience and excel in this beautiful sport.

BAAN FOUNDATION'S ROLE AT THE ACADEMY

Program Setup:

The Foundation will provide regular assessments and guidance to optimize Junior Program operations. The Program in Dehradun will be led by Mr. Sumeru Bahuguna who will work with the Foundation and be mentored by Mr. Vijay Divecha.

Player Progression

Exposure camps and golf course experiences to accelerate the development of intermediate and advanced players under the guidance of Mr. Divecha and the players coach.

Equipment Support

Provision of essential golf equipment to facilitate seamless Junior Program implementation.

Potential Competitive Platform:

Exploration of an annual tournament featuring top juniors from partner programs

Coach Enhancement:

Quarterly coaching workshops led by Mr. Vijay Divecha, Head of Instruction, to elevate coach expertise and program quality at the Baan Foundation Centre in Vadodra at no cost to coaches.

Golf Camps

Periodic camps and golf course visits will be organized to enhance intermediate student skills and progress. Dates and locations will be determined mutually.

About Us

Tee Off India is the brainchild of Sumeru Bahuguna, a seasoned golfer with a proven track record in the sport. As a Certified Teacher with the Baan Foundation and a Ledbetter Academy Certified Level 1 Instructor, Sumeru brings world-class expertise to his endeavours.

Making Golf Affordable

To make golf affordable, Sumeru successfully piloted the Dehradun Golf League in 2023. This league, the most economical ever in India, attracted over 100 golfers from all age levels across 10 teams, proving that golf can be accessible to a wider audience.

Creating a Golf Eco System

He aims to build upon this by offering coaching camps, leagues, tournaments, and creating more academies in Uttarakhand.

Pushing Golf Beyond Dehradun

With a strong foundation in Dehradun, Sumeru is committed to fostering golf growth and creating a vibrant golfing community across Uttarakhand and Tier 2 & 3 towns in the Himalayas.
